Diving spools play a crucial role in underwater exploration, safety, and navigation. Let’s delve into the different types of diving spools we crry and there construction.

 

  1. Cave Dive Reels.; Assent Dive reels

  2. Our Reels come in 3 Different Sizes.

  5. Large  (Used in Drift Dive groups).

    • Capacity: Cave diving reels typically have a substantial capacity, often up to 1000 meters of line. However, they function optimally when handling 100 to 200 meters.
    • Construction: These reels are usually made from a negatively buoyant braid, available in 24 or 36 gauge.
    • Color Choice: Many cave divers prefer light-colored reels, often opting for white.
    • Usage Tips:
      • Securely fix the start of your line at the entry and exit points.
      • Loop the line around notable features in the cave to keep it taut.
      • Use line markers to maintain orientation and find the correct path back.
  7. Wreck Diving Reels:

    • Line Length: Reels for shipwreck divers typically consist of lines ranging from 50 to 100 meters.
    • Color Coding: Different colored reels can indicate specific divers or routes within the wreck.
    • Material: These reels are robust and are often made from metal or toughened resin.
    • Avoid Tangles: Prevent tangling by looping the line around parts of the wreck. Use belays but avoid tying knots. Be cautious around sharp points and edges that could cut the line.
  8. Marker Buoy Diving Reels:

    • Common Use: Recreational divers frequently use safety reels to deploy a DSMB (Delayed Surface Marker Buoy).
    • Release and Sagging: Ensure easy release and minimal sagging when deploying a DSMB.
